Got on this morning...seven pounds lost. woo hoo. or not. kept getting on to check it out and it was the same. until I noticed that the needle was returning to less than zero. so, I adjust the little dial to excatly "zero" and then it says I've gained a half a pound. And the next time it says lost a pound. who knows????
So, until I can get a new set of scales, I will say that I have done OK. Last week, not so good in Orlando (Disney junk food) but this week has been better. And, the best part is my body is telling me I'm full much sooner and in a much louder way. If I eat too much junk, I feel really yucky, really fast.
So, there. I think I'll go with the one pound loss (not as good as seven, but I'll take it).
Anybody have a good scale to recommend??? Is digital trustworthy or should I stick with the old fashioned kind??

Hang in there sweety, you are doing good.
I switched from an "old-fashioned" scale to a digital and I really like it. It gives you the weight with pounds and ounces and some days I cling to the lost ounces!
I have an old fashion type, and hubby says it is unreliable....who knows.
I have the old fashioned type too. For me it's hard to see exactly where the needle is pointing. I guess I would buy a digital one so you can see exactly how much you have lost.
I switched scales mid-stream too and it messed me up because now I don't really know what my starting point was! But my new scale is consistent and that makes it all easier.
We just went to Disney too - did you try one of those huge turkey legs? They were good! And so was the funnel cake, and the churros, and the french fries. . .
I have a digital, only because my eyes don't work that well early in the morning to see where the little needle is pointing, LOL!! I do like the exactness of digital though.
Good luck this week!!
I teach a class and we weigh in every week and we were having trouble with the needle scales not being consitant. I bought us a digital and we are all loving it, they are not travel friendly, For the digital to be consitant we have found that they do better staying in one spot and not being moved around, make sure your are on hard level surface and that when you get on the scale you place your feet in the same spot (as much as possible). We are loving our digital because every ounce counts...a two ounce loss is still a loss!!! Keep it up..that you didn't gain 7 pounds in disney is a huge accomplishment!!!
I use a regular one, but notice that it does the same thing that yours does. It drives me nuts. I go to my doctors office every tuesday morning and get weighed. That way I know it is accurate and they don't even charge me!
I love my new digital scale, even though it is occasionally neurotic. If I step off and get on again and it says the same thing, I take that as accurate. Sometimes I step on it and it weighs quite a bit less than I know it should. I guess even digital scales can adjust according to your balance. It was $40 at Walmart, has a memory for 4 different users and also mentions body fat and hydration.
The scale I'm using was inherited from my father-in-law, and I'm guessing it's about 20 years old. It's digital but only measures pounds, not ounces. I've been trying to convince my DH that we need a new scale, because surely I am losing weight despite the scale staying the same... no dice. So, I guess I'll have scale envy when you get a new one!
I've got a basic health-o-meter digital scale and I'm loving it. And currently, it's weighing at the same weight as my doctor's office is!
Good job on any loss--be it 1 lb or 7!!!
