Things of Which I'm Certain

As the big event draws near, I am absolutely certain of the following:

  • That I'm not sure if I should have capitalized the word "which" in the title of this post
  • My house can not be in a bigger degree of disarray
  • Moms feel very strongly about whether or not I should use a wipe warmer
  • Stress is a very real thing and no amount of homemade oatmeal cookie dough can fix it
  • Homemade oatmeal cookie dough feels like a lead weight in your stomach if you eat it for lunch
  • I don't even really like oatmeal cookies
  • I put up my first artificial Christmas tree and it did not ruin my life
  • Artificial trees are easy to decorate...don't like where a little limb is? Bend it!
  • Little boy overalls are about the cutest darned thing I've ever laid my hands on
  • My newborn-child-to-be has more clothes than I do
  • I am not kidding
  • I may not make it through this week without one good panic attack
  • Waiting for a baby to be born is much like the old adage "a watched pot never boils"
  • My house may never be clean again
  • It finally feels like winter is giving us a sneak preview today
  • I do not like wet leaves
  • In two weeks, I will most likely be the mother of a baby boy
  • Life is good

You should see my "List of Things of Which I'm NOT Certain." Blogger's data storage limits would prevent me from posting it here. Suffice it to say. I do not know much.

I do know I'm grateful if you're reading this. The Week of Birth has finally arrived. Now, we wait for Call #1: The "Going Into Labor" call.

Breathe, Katie. Breathe.

We're excited too. I can't to meet him for the first time. About the wipe warmer, for someone who irons their first born's socks so his tootsies will be warm, I'm surprised the wipe warmer has caused so much of a quandry! :) Love ya!

Oh, Loretta... you just thought the socks were bad. Now his Daddy has been talked into running an iron over the towel for the boy before he gets out of the shower. It's a good thing we don't spoil him. (cough, choke)

A friend gave me her wipe warmer today. So, all my pro-warmer friends will be happy to know the little peanut's bottom will be nice and toasty at 2 a.m. :-)

Katie with a Newborn -- There's some reality tv that I would watch! I know you'll be an absolute natural, but it wouldn't be a K-Bod production if there weren't humor, drama... and dancing! Please, please, please set up a web cam... :-)

The wipe warmer is okay either way. I am on the fence about it. Now I definitely don't have a problem ironing the firstborn daughter's pannies(as she calls them) so her tush will be one pair of "hot buns"(again, as she calls it).

Pins and needles - Fo Sho! We're still all praying for you, your boys, Mama S, and for J. I hope you feel God's presence in the midst of this with you, because He is definitely there - cookie dough, panic attacks, the works! :o) Lots of love and hugs Chickadee.

Two things I know for certain:
1) God loves you and has for a future and a hope Jer. 29:11
2) God loves Jacob more than you or I or anyone can even imagine.
Truth you can stand on when the oatmeal cookie dough turns to paste...
much love and constant prayers!

I'm so excited for you!

And by the way...chocolate chip cookie dough is a little lighter and doesn't feel like a lead weight in your stomach if you eat it for lunch!

I'm checking in daily for updates.

Katie, I'm so excited!!!!!!!

I never used a wipe warmer but always thought it was a good idea. I found more people expressed their opinions about the diaper genie. I never used that either.

Also, we WILL get together after Jacob arrives!!

I am so excited! I can't wait to hear the news. Nothing like newborn baby news! And...I wouldn't bother with the wipe warmer...or a bottle warmer for that matter!

Precious Katie,
As one who has spent most of her professional life in the area of early childhood, one of the people with whom I want to spend some serious time once I get to Heaven is Mary. That young, inexperienced, Godly and brave young woman who was given the impossible job of raising God's son. What was He like as an infant, a toddler, did she spank him--ever?!
At any rate as we are in the season of Advent--preparing to celebrate the birth of God's son, you, Keith, and Daniel are awaiting the birth of your son. May God's perfect peace flood your soul as you, like Mary, 'ponder all of these things in your heart.'
Celebrating with you!
Christine
