Who Needs Sleep Anyway?

Of all the advice that poured in prior to J. entering our life, the most common was "boy, you'll miss your sleep!"

I honestly don't know what they were talking about. I'm doing just fine on 4 hours sleeeeeeeeeeeZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.............

Yeah, it's painful, isn't it? The sleepiness? BUT. Enjoy it. Because it doesn't last long. And relax (ie don't worry about how you'll manage going forward). Each phase, with its wonders and its perils, ends quickly. When he's six months old, you'll be sleeping again, but missing those quiet times in the night with him. (I'm telling myself this again as I type it. I need to listen to my own words because my time is coming and I'll need sage advice then.)

But soon, he will sleep through the night, and you will have the glory of becoming a completely new woman.

Man I remember those days. I have a really hard time functioning on anything less eight hours. Try to squeeze a nap in if you can and keep enjoying that sweet little baby.

Katie,
I am right there with you, Sara did great the first 2 weeks and then she started waking up every 1.5- 2 hrs to eat and now I think she has her days and nights mixed up. She likes to stay awake for 2-4 hrs at a time and mommy just wants to sleep. After about 5 weeks of sleep deprivation, your perspective of life sort of changes, who cares if the house is not spotless. And PJ's are ment to be worn as casual day clothes! Hope you and I get more sleep, hopefully by the time they are 3 months old life we will be getting more sleep. Thank God for whoever created consealer, it hides the bags under my eyes quite well.
Give me a call sometime!
