Roses are red
Will be writin' soon
She's really quite sleepy
From midnight to noon
24/7 I'm struggling this week
My brain is quite foggy
I'm too tired to speak
I'm loving this baby
And motherhood, too
Just wish I could get on
A schedule, it's true!
Diapers and bottles
The process continues
Feeding and changing
in all sorts of venues
I'm wishin my writing
Would come back to me
But for now I just offer
A lame poem, you see!

Not lame at all, I tell ya. Rather, your poem brilliantly portrays the stage of life you're in....new mom to new baby! You captured it perfectly!
Sleep my friend...sleep Jacob!!
Not lame, just honest. You'll get back into the swing of things soon.
Even if it WERE lame, which it isn't, you're still doin' better than I am at motherhood to a newborn, and mine hasn't even hatched yet. So be proud, m'kay?
Hang in there. You'll have your schedule before you know it. Although I found it best to look at it as a ROUTINE vs. a schedule. Because a schedule implies that things happen at the same time every day, which they won't. Ever. As you already know from having one kid.
You're doing great. The fact that you still have your sense of humor is a fantastic sign!
:: standing ovation ::
Seriously...you thought to use the word "venues" in a poem? Even with all the sleep deprivation? I am very impressed!! :-)
quite cute. and i don't know if you can call it brain fog if you can write such a cute poem.
Well the creative juices are still flowing so there's hope. Wishing you more sleep, a workable schedule, and a clear head!
I think we can all understand. Very funny poem.
I am kind of a scheduling expert...if you need any help, feel free to email me. I know it feels like rocket science.
