On Any Given Day

On any given day
I am in love with how
Your sweet innocence
Intermingles
With a fiery temper
And unending curiosity

On any given day
I welcome the sound
Of your good morning gurgles
And your sigh of contentment
As I lift you into my arms
As the first rays of light
Slant through the window

On any given day
I am all at once frustrated
But grateful that you cry
When I turn to walk away
This means I am "your person"
I cherish that role

On any given day
You are an answer to prayer
My second son
My youngest child
And I could not love you more.

So well stated, I have to remind myself to enjoy these fleeting moments in my youngest childs life. It is amazing watching them figure out "their" world, but at the same time, it is sad to know they will only be little for just awhile longer.

What a beautiful poem! I love it! :)

You stopped by my old HSB blog a while ago to encourage me with my strive towards healthier habits and I never got a chance to say thanks. So thank you! :) And congrats to you for how well you're doing! Fabulous! :) You look awesome and those boys of yours will appreciate having a healthy mom! :)

You have such a gift with love and with words Katie. I need to slow down and appreciate the small moments so much more often.
