46 pacifiers

46 pacifiers
live in our home
I'm trying to find one
all over I roam

a green or a blue one
or orange indeed
the old or the new one
a pacifier I need!

i've looked and I've looked
as the whining ensues
just one pacifier
and my baby might snooze!

I hope you found one! I remember those days - I was so grateful when Bean finally found her fingers and sucked them instead. They tend to always be right where she left 'em.

Oh I love it...a mother's every nightmare...where is that binky?

Ha! I JUST finished a paci search so I could nap the baby and sit down for some blog reading. :) How do they disappear like that? It's the worst when they start getting mobile, too. I found one in the pan cupboard.

Their tiny socks also have that magic ability.

Oh man! I hear ya!!! My favorite line is the "old one or new one". I promised myself that they wouldn't share pacies (and germs) but when the little one is crying, it doesn't matter anymore!

Do you live at my house? Just wondering because we have that same routine every nap time and every night time. Ugh! And I even take them away from him when he isn't sleeping because I think it is time for him to give them up. So in theory it should be where I put it when I took it from him in the morning. Well, that is the theory.

How familiar! I have a pacifier to match every outfit, yet when I really need one in the bedroom, they're all downstairs, or scattered among the toys . . .

I totally feel your pain.

This reminds me of one of my favorite new mommy stories from my friend Jenny - her new colicky baby was crying and after weeks of sleep deprivation she finally lost it and fell sobbing on the bed. When her husband asked what was wrong she screamed hysterically, "I can't. Find. the paaaaaaciiiiiii!!!"

I mean, can you so relate?

Fortunately her husband clued in that an intervention was required and sent her to a hotel for some sleep.

Whenever I can't find one, the image of Jenny in a fetal position on the bed always pops into my mind and now that her boys are in school, it makes me giggle.

And a tip...put some of those tethers on several of them - it seems to make them easier to locate.
